An amazing early spring flowering buddlia. The grey leaves fall off during winter, finally leaving bare stems just before spring, allowing the amazing mauve purple flower panicles to become the show stopper in a late winter garden. When it is in flower it is often mistaken for a lilac. As it is winter flowering there are many unemployed gardeners who pruned at the wrong time, assuming it was ‘just a buddlia’.
